In Memoriam
Mrs. Ngozi Adaeze Okonkwo was a beloved teacher, mother, and community leader who dedicated over thirty years of her life to educating children in Enugu State. Born on July 22, 1955, in Awka, she grew up with a passion for learning that led her to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where she earned a degree in Education. She joined the public school system in 1980 and rose to become headmistress of Community Primary School, Enugu, a position she held with distinction until her retirement in 2015. Beyond the classroom, Mama Ngozi was the heartbeat of her family — cooking elaborate Sunday meals, mediating disputes with wisdom, and praying fervently for everyone she loved. She is survived by her husband, Chief Emmanuel Okonkwo, four children, and eight grandchildren. Her memory will forever be a blessing.
